I am working on techniques to improve my real estate photography. This photo is shot with the Sony a6000 and Rokinon 12mm lens, using RAW format. Exposure bracketing and HDR software are used to blend exposures from the bright outdoors to darker interior.
This learning process has been quite fun! The digital age has opened up many new avenues to enhance the quality of images and the communication of ideas. Real estate photography is poised to take great advantage of new digital techniques and equipment.
I have learned that real estate photography is far beyond point-and-shoot. Done properly, it sells a lifestyle, enabling the potential customer to feel the essence of the property. Perhaps equally important, it creates the link that connects agent with viewers. The viewer should be able to answer the question “What does this place offer for me and my family?” Good photography (and video) elicits emotion.
